Bird nesting season runs from 1 March to 31 August and to help us protect our wildfowl and nesting birds, all visitors with dogs are asked to keep their charges under control and to note that:
PONDS - Please keep dogs on a lead around all of our ponds to protect our wildfowl
THE PLAIN - Please keep dogs on lead, and keep to the mown paths and out of the long grass
Thank you for your co-operation
The Commons are the perfect place to help children engage with nature and the environment. With 1,140 acres of natural playground, the Windmill Museum, Information Centre and the stable yard, there is plenty to see and do.
Information for schools“I adore walking on Wimbledon Common - as ways of getting fit, I can think of nothing better. Natural beauty surrounds me every time and it can be very meditative. The main paths around the Common are clearly laid out but there is a myriad of smaller walkways to add interest and variety. I recommend it highly!”
