We have cygnets!

We are delighted that the pair of Mute Swans on Queensmere have hatched some beautiful cygnets this year. Unfortunately we have lost one already to a pike in the Mere so let's keep these three safe.

If you are in the area with your dogs, please do remember to keep them on a lead - this is for their benefit too as the adults can get very aggressive with youngsters about. A visitor took some photographs last week of the male swan attacking a dog in the water, apparently going from sleeping to a full on attack on the dog who was a 100 yards away (and not even bothering the swans) in a matter of seconds.
