Improvement works to the Beverley Brook Path on Wimbledon Common

We are delighted that, thanks to a grant from Southern Western Railway’s Customer and Communities Improvement Fund and donations to the Friends of Wimbledon and Putney Commons, we can now start the resurfacing of the path that runs alongside Beverley Brook on Wimbledon Common.

Regular users of this route will know it becomes extremely muddy in winter and this long-awaited work will greatly improve the path from the Richardson Evans Memorial Playing Fields Pavilion to the stone bridge at the bottom of Robin Hood Ride (see map below).

The new path will be a multi-use route and will be suitable for pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchairs, pushchairs etc.

The work is scheduled to begin on Monday 17 August and will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. During this time there will be heavy machinery operating in the area and for safety reasons the path will be closed to the public.  We would kindly ask you to use alternative routes whilst the work is underway.
