Dog Owners - Come and meet TV’s Chris Packham on Wimbledon Common this Friday, 2nd September!

TV presenter and naturalist Chris Packham is visiting Wimbledon Common this Friday 2nd September to launch Tick Awareness Month.

Chris will be on the Common from 6.00am to 3.00pm for the one-day free event which is open to all dog owners and walkers and you are invited to come along and meet him!

At the event, organised the Big Tick Project based at Bristol University, Chris is set to give a series of three informal talks at 11.00am, 12.30pm and 2.00pm on the threat from ticks and tick-borne disease as well as the preventative measures we can take to protect our dogs, cats and ourselves from the risk of tick-borne illnesses such as Lyme disease.

He will also be unveiling the results of the Big Tick Project and together with vets and vet nurses will also be showing how to check our pets for ticks and remove attached ticks from dogs safely.

This is likely to be a popular event so please be aware that parking on the Commons is limited.
