Carols at the Windmill a great success!

Despite being a last minute decision to hold a Carol Concert at the Windmill in December to celebrate the return of the sails, it was thanks to the hard work of the Windmill Museum Trustees and their volunteers, along with the Commons' staff, that the event was a huge success.

The Wandle Concert Band came along to help get us in the Christmas spirit, playing a variety of classic and sing-a-long carols, and we can't thank them enough for their superb playing, and their enthusiasm.

We were completely overwhelmed by the support from the public, and with some 300 of you coming along to join in with the singing and the celebrations, the Windmill volunteers were kept busy serving up hot chocolate and mince pies!

We will definitely be arranging a similar event next year (provisional date 16th December) and, by popular request, we will have some mulled wine too!
