Impact of Merton Council's Controlled Parking Zones

Merton Council's Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ) along The Causeway and around The Quadrant are now being implemented. While regulation of these roads will alleviate the long-term parking by large campervans, particularly on The Causeway, it is likely to have an impact on parking for visitors to Wimbledon Common.

The Pay and Display infrastructure on the Causeway has already been installed, although it has not yet been confirmed when the machines will be installed and the parking charges come into force.   We do know that on The Causeway the CPZ will operate Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6.30pm - weekends will remain free.

It is understood that Merton Council currently intends to commence this Pay & Display scheme before the formal consultation on the hours of the CPZ operation in the roads around the Quadrant (Camp Road, Camp View, North View and West Place) and on Westside takes place.  Local Residents' Associations are trying to persuade the council, with help from Councillors and Stephen Hammond MP, to activate both schemes simultaneously.

We will keep you informed on how this develops.
