Restoration of the Horse Rides

The Wimbledon Village Stables and their clients, with a bit of help from the Fantastic Mr Fudge, have been running a fundraising campaign for the Commons, specifically to help restore some of the horse rides.  We are very grateful to everyone who has generously contributed to the campaign.

Having raised an amazing £23,000, the first part of the restoration work can now begin.   In two parts, the work will start along Bluegate Ride to try and alleviate the water-logging that parts of the ride are prone to.  The second part of the work will take place along Memorial Ride and will be a continuation of the work started by our Maintenance Team.  This phase will be carried out by a professional contractor with a lot of experience in this type of work.

Work started on Monday 19th February and will take approximately three weeks.  There will be some vehicle movement in these areas so do please take care if you are walking nearby.
