Local volunteer expert, Les Evans-Hill, is running a Bird Identification Workshop on Saturday 24th April.  

If you are interested in an introduction to identifying birds by their song, as well as some basic facts about our bird life, then this may be for you!

As we will still be under restrictions in respect of meeting up, the Course will take place via Zoom and, unfortunately, it will not be possible to include the Sunday morning walk.

This Workshop is aimed at beginners.

The outline itinerary for the Workshop is as follows:

Saturday 24th April:

1.30pm approx - Sign in to the Zoom meeting for introductions 

2.00pm Workshop begins

3.30pm - Refreshment Break

5.00pm (approx.)  Workshop finishes

Cost

The cost for the workshop will be £10 per person.  This includes an electronic or hard copy of the course presentation which will be sent out after the Workshop. 

How to Reserve your Place

The Workshop is limited to 15 places and booking is required. Please e-mail Angela at the Ranger's Office angela@wpcc.org.uk to make an initial reservation and to receive details on how to make payment.  Your place will be confirmed on receipt of payment.  Reservations will be taken on a first come/first served basis. 

Location:  Zoom.  The link to the meeting will be sent out the day before the Workshop.

Holding an Event on Wimbledon and Putney Commons

COVID-19 - Please note that due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the number and nature of events given approval is limited.  Please contact the Ranger's Office for further information.

 

As the Commons are now a popular location for events, you will need to seek permission from the Ranger's Office before organising any formal or semi-formal event on or across the Commons.  This is to ensure that there is no clash of events that would spoil the enjoyment of participants, or negatively impact our visitors, other users or  indeed have a negative impact on the Commons - a protected Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Whilst we are limited to the size and type of event we can host here on the Commons, we are always happy to see if we can help.  Please complete the Enquiry Form and one of our team will get back to you to discuss your request.  

As a charity, we do charge for events on the Commons.  The charges will depend on the nature of the event.  Please contact the Ranger's Office for further information.
