Reception at the House of Commons Event

Reception at the House of Commons

21st July 2022 from 7pm to 9pm

Terrace Pavilion, House of Commons

The 16th August 2021 marked the 150th anniversary of the date on which the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Act 1871 received Royal Assent and the finale to our celebrations will take place in the stunning location of the Terrace Pavilion at the House of Commons, kindly hosted on our behalf by Stephen Hammond, MP for Wimbledon.

Overlooking the Thames, you will enter the venue through the glorious Westminster Hall, and on through the Central Lobby to the Terrace Pavilion where drinks and canapes will await.

We are particularly delighted to announce that Sir Richard Peek will be joining us as a special guest.  Sir Richard is a direct descendant of Sir Henry Peek, the Chairman of the Wimbledon Common Committee, who was so instrumental in the preservation of the whole of Wimbledon Common and Putney Heath.

The evening will bring together all those who share a passion for the Commons and we very much hope therefore that you will be able to join us.

Tickets will go on sale to Friends of Wimbledon and Putney Commons from 20 May 2022 - please follow this link Reception Tickets - you will need your Friends login to access the page.

Tickets will go on general sale on 27 May 2022.

Ticket price is £50 (plus booking fee).

Holding an Event on Wimbledon and Putney Commons

As the Commons are now a popular location for events, you will need to seek permission from the Ranger's Office before organising any formal or semi-formal event on or across the Commons.  This is to ensure that there is no clash of events that would spoil the enjoyment of participants, or negatively impact our visitors, other users or  indeed have a negative impact on the Commons - a protected Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Whilst we are limited to the size and type of event we can host here on the Commons, we are always happy to see if we can help.  Please complete the Enquiry Form and one of our team will get back to you to discuss your request.

As a charity, we do charge for events on the Commons.  The charges will depend on the nature of the event.  Please contact the Ranger's Office for further information.
