Information Centre

The Information Centre was built in 2002, thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Open to the public seven days a week, from 9am until 5pm, you’ll find the Information Centre next to the Ranger's Office.

The Information Centre gives visitors a whole range of information on the Commons, from its flora and fauna as well as it's wide-ranging history.  We also have a children's area with lots of colouring in to do.

The Information Centre is also home to one of our most prized possessions - a video macroscope which shows a selection of specimens in astonishingly close-up detail, which are then displayed on a screen for visitors to see. The specimens are regularly changed and there is a section for you to place and study your own specimens, so there’s always something new to discover under our marvellous macroscope!

Please be aware when visiting the Information Centre that it is in a working area with vehicles and horses around. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
