Information for Schools
The Commons are the perfect place to help children engage with nature and the environment. With 1140 acres of natural playground, the Windmill Museum, Information Centre and the stable yard, there is plenty to see and do.
Planning your visit
As the Commons are becoming more and more popular with schools, it is helpful for us to know you are planning to visit. This way we can ensure that your visit does not clash with another school visit or another event taking place on the Commons.
As soon as you have a date arranged, please contact the Ranger's Office to check availability.
Coaches and Mini-coaches - Please note that there is no onsite parking for coaches and mini-coaches. A small mini-bus that fits in a regular parking space is permitted. There is a drop off/pick up point outside the Windmill Car Park and coaches should then move off site.
Facilities
The only public toilets are located in the Windmill Car Park.
Use of the Richardson Evans Memorial Playing Fields
The Playing Fields are used on an almost daily basis by schools so if you wish to use this space, or park in the car park, booking ahead is essential.
Outdoor/Forest Schools
Wimbledon and Putney Commons cannot currently accept any more requests from outdoor schools requiring a permanent site.
