Wildlife recording on the Commons

Monitoring the wildlife, flora and fauna on the Commons is a really important way for us to understand whether the conservation work we carry out is having the desired effect or, as the climate starts to change and the species we get here adjusts, whether we need to be doing things differently.

You can help with this monitoring by recording and sending us your sightings.

Our reports

We produce two major reports each year relating to the wildlife of the Commons: our Annual Conservation Report – produced by our Conservation and Engagement Officer – summarises and explains the work our maintenance and conservation teams carry out on the Commons. The Monitoring Report is a substantial, data-led report on the recording of the flora and fauna on the Commons.

“Wimbledon Common means so much to me; beautiful countryside within London, my favourite city in the world.”
